Dr Clint Hansen is a Yiman/Iman Countryman committed to sharing knowledge from his ongoing learning about Country and water. He completed his PhD in Environmental Engineering in early 2025 and is now a Research Fellow in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Monash University.

Clint completed his Honours degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering in 2020. His Honours research focused on securing safe and sustainable water supplies for communities in Victoria’s Goldfields region. That same year, he received the Deputy Vice Chancellor’s Tullamareena Award in recognition of his academic excellence and positive contribution to the student experience.

Clint is committed to supporting the next generation of Indigenous students, particularly those pursuing studies and careers in STEM. He has mentored students through the Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School, the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme, and the Gamadji Institute. In 2020, he also collaborated with YARN Australia to establish a series of online yarning circles connecting young people across the nation.

Guided by his community and Elders, Clint’s research focuses on protecting the cultural and ecological values of water in areas of Central Queensland affected by Coal Seam Gas development. His work brings Indigenous Knowledge together with western scientific methods to advocate for Indigenous water rights, regenerative futures, and justice for communities affected by resource extraction.
